They advanced through the town of Guadalajara on 8 March 1937 as part of the second of a two-prong attack of the Nationalist forces. The attack  resulted in an Italian defeat.\n\nPenarroya: The Last Gasp, depicts the last major offensive of the Republican army. The Republicans planned a quick strike against the weak Nationalist flank in the northern Andalusia region to force a withdrawal of enemy forces to Cabeza del Buey.
