The game can accommodate 2-12 players but is recommended for 4-6.\n\nEach player starts in one of a group of given supply centers and has two more from a different group as allies; which ones each player gets is determined randomly.\n\nThe basic rules are modified in three ways:\n\n\n     Reinforcements are handled differently.\n\n\n\n     Many spaces on the board are held by barbarians.
